Mark Zuckerberg’s most important features are not his intellect or his wit it’s his resilience in the face of adversity and it shows so so vividly in The Social Network. Things spiral out of control as business begins to seep into friendship and loyalty, while people from all walks of life become involved in this overarching drama thriller. One day, he gets an offer from The Winklevoss Twins to work on a Harvard social networking application, the same night Mark talks to Eduardo about an idea called “The Facebook”. He runs into Eduardo Saverin, and they become decent acquaintances. The story follows Mark Zuckerberg as he’s a student at Harvard, trying to make full sense of his life. It was so mind-blowingly well written as a score, that I keep it in my playlist at all times. At Parker’s suggestion, the company moves to Palo Alto, with Saverin remaining in New York to work on business development. He also suggests dropping “The” from Thefacebook, just calling it Facebook. Lee arranges for Saverin and Zuckerberg to meet Napster co-founder Sean Parker, who presents a “billion dollar” vision for the company that impresses Zuckerberg. As Thefacebook grows in popularity, Zuckerberg extends the network to Yale University, Columbia University and Stanford University. Saverin and Zuckerberg meet fellow student Christy Lee, who asks them to “Facebook me”, a phrase which impresses both of them.
